Does SDX replace institutional expertise?

No. It gives expertise a basis that can be examined instead of reconstructed.

What the expert stops doing

Domain experts, auditors and supervisory staff spend much of their effort establishing where a figure came from before they can judge it. That work happens again at every review, and it rarely leaves a record.

SDX establishes that basis once, in a form that states what the evidence supports, what it does not support and where the limits are. The expert begins where the reconstruction ends.

Judgement stays where it belongs

Deciding what a finding means for an institution, what follows from it and what is worth acting on remains an institutional act. SDX establishes the ground; it does not occupy it.

The same holds for disagreement. A result that can be examined can be contested on identical terms — which is the point, not a concession.
